The Beckman Institute at Cal Tech is a 150,000 SF multi-disciplinary research laboratory and office building. Spaces are shared by the departments of Chemistry and Biology. Laboratories include organic and inorganic chemistry, x-ray diffraction, mass spectroscopy, NMR, bio-chemistry, DNA synthesis and sequencing, lasers and optics. Specialty laboratories include an insectary for grasshopper research. The National Science Foundation Center for Biotechnology was an original occupant. The Arnold Beckman Museum is located on the first floor. The project was delivered in 22 months through Construction Manager at Risk methodology for $32 million. Advanced Micro Devices Submicron Development Center

The SDC is a 190,723 SF research and development microelectronics facility on AMD?s campus in Sunnyvale. The building is a three story design with process support level at grade, the Class 1 Cleanroom (M1 @ 0.1?) on level 2 and the fan systems on level 3. The SDC is linked to an existing AMD facility to the North. The 27,155 SF cleanroom is a bay/chase configuration for implant, EPI, diffusion and etch while the photolithography area is a ballroom configuration.
