Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies Core Facility

CINT is one of five DOE Nanoscale Research centers forming an integral part of the National Nanotechnology Initiative by the Office of Science, US Department of Energy. This advanced Nanoscale Research Laboratory is a 98,000 SF single story radial concept situated just outside Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque. Designed to house 148 scientists, it will be jointly operated by Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) and Los Alamos National laboratory (LANL).Three distinct laboratory wings (Class 1000 cleanroom, Chemistry/Molecular Biology Labs, Optical/Surface Analysis labs) are linked by a radial “Nano Loop” corridor and separated by two “oases”. National Security Sciences Building

The NSSB was a Design Build delivery approach led by Hensel Phelps Construction. This eight story project is 274,750 SF and has approximately 700 occupants. It was conceived as a replacement to the SM43 Headquarters building for the Laboratory and is a central feature of the primary LANL campus in Technical Area Three (TA3). The occupants include LANL Laboratory Director’s office and support staff as well as scientists/weapons designers from X Division.
