Purdue University – Birck Nanotechnology Center

The Birck Nanotechnology Center is the anchor of Purdue University?s new Discovery Park located on the southwest edge of the West Lafayette campus. This 185,000 SF graduate student laboratory features interactive interdisciplinary laboratories, cleanrooms, seminar spaces and office functions for research in nanoscale applications. The building integrates the School of Electrical and Computational Engineering with a diverse group of constituents including departments of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Projects involve far reaching programs including the School of Veterinary Medicine and technology transfer initiatives from industry partners. Advanced Micro Devices Submicron Development Center

The SDC is a 190,723 SF research and development microelectronics facility on AMD?s campus in Sunnyvale. The building is a three story design with process support level at grade, the Class 1 Cleanroom (M1 @ 0.1?) on level 2 and the fan systems on level 3. The SDC is linked to an existing AMD facility to the North. The 27,155 SF cleanroom is a bay/chase configuration for implant, EPI, diffusion and etch while the photolithography area is a ballroom configuration.
